Peppe909 0 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Hi, i have had an issue to update plugins (error: Check for application updates failed) every reboot So i wanted to reinstall emby. The next error appeared: Error downloading package...blabla Now im forced to use a portable version. Ive tried a previous solution posted on forum (Plugins won't update. - IIS Crypto) That didnt help. Ive tried to shut down firewall on my router, in windows, updated windows with all drivers which didnt help either. What is exactly the issue? Can someone help me in this case? Thanks P. embyserver.txt hardware_detection-63720494045.txt
Luke 42083 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Hi, it appears you have something blocking emby server from sending outgoing requests. Usually this means firewall, security software or VPN. Can you look into these?
Peppe909 0 Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Hi Luke, nope, im not using any VPN or proxy or whatever, i do not use any security software except the windows 10. What should exactly block a request, when im not able even to reinstall emby? Could you please give me an advise, which web address is used during the update or should i install a network sniffer to check it out?
Luke 42083 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 In other words something in your system is preventing access to those resources. Another thing you could try is disabling ipv6 on your router settings.
Peppe909 0 Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 (edited) When running the setup.exe and wireshark running, it throws at the ip https://140.82.118.6/ and or https://140.82.112.6/ error SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN...for github domain. Is the issue really on my side? Here the log from wireshark: Edited March 22, 2020 by Peppe909
Luke 42083 Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 Unfortunately yes because you can see it's happening with multiple domains besides github. Plugins are hosted on our domain. Is Windows fully up to date?
Peppe909 0 Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Hi, Win 10 is up to date...recently i was able to solve it using telerik fiddler 4...some issues with windows certificates
Peppe909 0 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Hi, so the issue reoccoured. Im unable to install emby. Error downloading package. I received following error using fiddler 4: Session #2: The server (api.github.com) presented a certificate that did not validate, due to RemoteCertificateChainErrors.0 - A certificate chain could not be built to a trusted root authority.ISSUER: CN=DigiCert SHA2 High Assurance Server CA, OU=www.digicert.com, O=DigiCert Inc, C=USThis warning can be disabled by clicking Tools > Options. Im losing patience...shall i reinstall the OS or what?
Peppe909 0 Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 No, i do not have win 10 insider...im giving up...im not able to open https://github.com/ on edge browser...error DLG_FLAGS_INVALID_CA...could this be the issue, or Edge has nothing to do with emby?
muzicman0 84 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 check your system clock. I have seen other similar issues when the date or time is way off.
