kaledi 41 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I've decided to better currate my music videos. I'ev takent he ame approach as used for movies Artist>Track>file This is fine, except if I have multiple version of the same song. With movies if you use the following name - version.mkv then the library will correctly recognise that they should be grouped (e.g. different cuts, or bit rates / resoultions encoded) With music videos I can get the videos to group, however, the first video is used to identify the song name and uses the full filename for the purpose e.g. name - version1.mkv will be seen in the library as shown name - version2.mkv is grouped with version 1, but the song name is as above so the dash doesn't signal boundary for the library to stop for naming. Any suggestions? I know I can metadata edit, but I have a lot of songs and this would take for ever.
kaledi 41 Posted March 19, 2020 Author Posted March 19, 2020 Sure for example Artist> Track> track - (24fps).mkv track - (25fps).mkv track - (remix) - (25fps).mkv I've also put the year into the title Track (1996)> track (1996) - (24fps).mkv track (1996) - (25fps).mkv track (1996) - (remix) - (25fps).mkv The particular example above is an odd one as I have two versions that have been encoded at different frame rates, but less usual is having a remix version, or alternative version. No matter what I've attempted, the track displays in library as track - (24fps)
Luke 42085 Posted March 19, 2020 Posted March 19, 2020 I would try again with the next release as I think there were some small adjustments to this, if I recall. if it still shows that way after that, then it must not match exactly and we'll need to look at an actual example, as this is still just a general one. Thanks.
