Help with what i need? Can one view guide while viewing guide/channel surfing? Like a cable or satellite box.

 Pardon me i screwed up the title of this thread.

I meant to say, that i want to view live channel(s) while searching through guide for emby live tv

 

 

i am emby premier for 1 year now. Extremely happy with paid service.

Mainly watch emby live tv on shield tv served up from windows 10 emby server.

i use IPTV provider and hdhomerun for local ota.

Though i have many options if in fact i can attain a more cable-box/channel surfing kindof feel. Like if i can get a better UI(channel surfing feel) i would easily switch to something else such as as installing emby on my 2018 LG Oled, or building HTPC, using Fire TV box etc. 

 

And im sorry if this doesnt make sense but: 

 

Can someone tell or show me how i can watch an emby live tv channel while at the same time looking in the guide for something else to watch?

 

Not that i need this exactly- specifically, but i forget which channel i was on when switching channels, and am really interested in more of a cable box feel when channel surfing. Any ideas? Do i change a theme or something?

 

Is it currently possible to like have an overlay of the live tv channel while searching guide or vice versa? (as if its a cable box or directv)

 

 

If clarity is needed im happy to expand..

That is doable on Android Tv not sure about fire tv. Emby client on shield tv you can access the tv guide by clickink up arrow and selecting guide.
