Update disabled but server still asking for updates

I have unchecked both

Enable automatic server updates

and

Allow the server to restart automatically to apply updates

But the dashboard is still showing this occasionally

Please restart the server to finish applying updates.

This is a problem cause i run a bunch of diskless clients with fixed emby content,

and when the server gets updated, the credentials saved on those clients are gone,

and whenever there is a blackout my server gets shutdown, and thus emby gets updated.

Any possible fix?

I'm assuming this is the plugins getting updated, nothing you can do about that. Emby does this no matter what, even if updates are disabled. Should probably be renamed to "Server Updates (excluding plugins)" or something.

I see so its the plugins..

If that so, then is there any way to prevent the client from losing credentials (have to re-login) when the server is updated?

We won'd have anything in the server that clears client credentials when the server is updated.

Strange then cause the clients definitely have to re-login whenever is the server is updated. Or is there probably security mechanism on emby theatre that forces users to re-login when the server updates?

Correct me if I'm wrong, under the user profile, do you have the remember user login or remember last logged in user (forgot what it's called) checked? Not sure if Emby Theater has this or not.

Just checked, Yes, it's ticked, its been this way since i installed emby on my clients.

It will auto-login normally,

only when the server is updated the login page is missing credentials and users have to re-login

What app is that?

There is nothing in the server that causes this.  I would assume this is a client/app specific issue?  I do not see this behavior in my web clients or Rokus.

Any browser that clears its cache/history will do this.

And technically you can disable server and plugin updates via the api or knowing the the file to make in your custom scheduled task folder.

The app is loaded from iscsi based program called ccboot, the emby folder content is "freezed" and any changes made to that folder will be reverted after reboot.

Hmm im still using some plugins though, so is it safe to stop them from auto-updating?

And i didnt see any option to disable plugin auto update, but will check again

I would say something in this process would be the issue.

Most of the time it is a compatibility or improvement plugin update.

In the api you would remove the scheduled task triggers for the task to stop it from doing its thing.  Then you as the admin have to remember what you did.  I created a bat file with the curl command to run the task at will.
