AviatorBimmer 28 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Is it possible to put Emby in "Maintenance Mode" while one works on the backend and have it display such a message when a user attempts to use Emby? Sort of like on websites that use Wordpress, VBulletin or Invision Power, that you can put it in offline mode and everyone gets this message. Looks better than just shutting it down and members getting an error. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Luke 42097 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 It's not possible, but it's a good idea for the future. Thanks. 1
Scott D 69 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I just posted a similar request under the Feature Request section. "Brilliant Minds Think Alike". :-) 1

Some immediate alterntives - If your media is on a NAS, then change your port forward to another secondary copy of Emby and let your users use that while you work on the primary. Give it an alternative port and let your port forward do a PAT (Port Address Translation) as well as a NAT. That way, you don't need to change your DDNS for remote users. I actually do this with the Beta as my 2nd copy - that way I can use the Beta to test out the latest updates and should I wish, re-direct users to when I wish to take down the Primary (running Standard Release) for whatever reason. Spaceboy 2573 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Seem to remember requests for this stretching back 2-3 years at least.
