You need to get them all deleted, not just the extras.

Deleted all of the actors from the TV show, refreshed the metadata and they're all back, duplicates and all.

That's not the procedure I outlined earlier in this topic. Please try that. Thanks.

So you're unable to fix the issue with coding then?

This is a new TV show and the duplicated actor(s) are not in any other movie/TV Show I have.

Yes you can just delete the dupe actor but does it come back when you do a meta data refresh?

if you have deleted the duplicates - what do you expect to happen when you do a refresh - other than emby downloads the same data again?

Was able to do a clean install again and now see duplicate for Patrick Stewart and Jeri Ryan, but that is a direct reflection of TVDB metadata. (1.0.29.0)

But did a Refresh and Replace all images with plugin 1.0.30.0 corrected the issue.  But my test was with only one series on this new system.

Only tested database only info, but will test nfo also shortly.

As shown above 9-1-1 Lone Star, TVDB issue.  But 1.0.30.0 appears to resolve their issue.

As shown above 9-1-1 Lone Star, TVDB issue. But 1.0.30.0 appears to resolve their issue.

I concur, v1.0.30.0 of the TVDB plugin seems to have resolved the issue.

Thanks.

Yep, latest TVDB plugin (1.0.30.0) also fixed the issue for me.

Even though Luke patched around the issue, TVDB is looking into it.

I've already ticketed this issue and the team is looking into it.

Has there been a cleaner way of fixing this problem sorted out?

I'm encountering this issue and I have a fairly extensive database so pulling the media from offenders as mentioned earlier in this thread means pulling possibly hundreds of episodes/movies for a single bugged person.

Is there a way to just wipe the actor information and do a full refresh without going person by person?

Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.

The specific example I was experiencing included multiple copies of one actor. The works associated with that actor would be spread across the three entries.

What I did to fix (at least MOSTLY) fix the issue was uncheck the settings in each library to scan for metadata online, favoring only the local NFO information. Then I did a deep rescan of my entire library.

I believe the duplicate actor information was possibly remnants of old emby formatting/read info or something, so a total refresh fixed most of the issues. Some of the persistent issues seem associated with issues present in the NFO files themselves as related to the metadata providers occasionally having broken information.

Yes often users have nfo files that are either old or created by other software, and thus do not have external ids attached to all of the people. Allowing Emby to replace that information will usually resolve it.
