troyhough 61 Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 the entire DVR schedule. So for the most part everything went pretty well with the backup and restore.. The only big problem that I noticed is that my entire DVR schedule is gone. Not a huge deal but I now need to go and schedule all my recordings from scratch. Just wanted to know if this is normal? Or maybe some sort of glitch?
Luke 42078 Posted March 14, 2020 Posted March 14, 2020 Hi, we haven't yet added this to the backup plugin but it's planned for the future. Thanks. 2

muzicman0 84 Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I think I've asked this in another thread, is there a way to manually backup the DVR settings?
Luke 42078 Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I think I've asked this in another thread, is there a way to manually backup the DVR settings? Some users have found certain things on their own, which you can find by searching the community. At this time though I would suggest recreating the recordings.

troyhough 61 Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 Hey @@Luke after I got the server up and running after the fresh install, I assigned one of the users for Emby Connect. I got the email confirmation and everything seemed good. I tried connecting a few devices and Emby Connect would not work. Had to use IP. After a while I went back and seen that the Emby Connect box for that user was empty. Entered it back in there again and got the email again. Connect seems to be working now. Any idea what happened?

The user must have deleted the server from their server selection screen, or you re-edited the user and removed their Emby Connect info. 1
troyhough 61 Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 The user must have deleted the server from their server selection screen You mean on each new device that I tried to sign in on?
troyhough 61 Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) @@Luke one last question about the reformat. After setting up my DVR schedule again and looking at what's coming up, I see several recordings scheduled that I already have recorded in my library. In each Show's recording settings, I have checked "Don't record episodes that are already in my library" but some shows are still scheduled to record (duplicates). Some, possibly all were recorded when I was using Plex's DVR. How can I get this fixed so I am no longer recording shows that I already have? A few examples.... 1. (As shown on Emby Recording Schedule) Pinkalicious & Peterrific - Season 1 25. Monkey Dance; Royal Peacock Dance This is already in my library and saved in Season 1 directory as Pinkalicious & Peterrific (2019) - S01E43 - Monkey Dance; Royal Peacock Dance.ts 2. (As shown on Emby Recording Schedule) Pinkalicious & Peterrific - Season 1 36. Drawing Noses; Pinkalicious on Ice This is already in my library and saved in Season 1 directory as Pinkalicious & Peterrific (2018) - S01E55 - Drawing Noses; Pinkalicious on Ice 3. (As shown on Emby Recording Schedule) Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood - Season 3 11. Tiger Family Trip This is already in my library and saved in Season 3 directory as Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood (2012) - 2017-05-08 07 00 00 - Tiger Family Trip 4. (As shown on Emby Recording Schedule) The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! - Season 2 18. Take a Walk; Cotton Patch This is already in my library twice and saved in Season 2 directory as The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That (2010) - S02E20 - Take a Walk; Cotton Patch and The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That (2010) - S02E15 - Take a Walk; Cotton Patch Edited March 16, 2020 by troyhough
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Did you follow the guidelines in the help text underneath the option?
troyhough 61 Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Did you follow the guidelines in the help text underneath the option? I am not seeing any issues unless the year in the filename throws everything off? Edit: Or maybe it doesn't go off the NAME of the show at all, only the episode number. Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 What do you see for the help text underneath the option!
troyhough 61 Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 What do you see for the help text underneath the option! I honestly have no idea what you are talking about here. 'help text underneath the option' ?????????? Are you talking about the TV naming page?? https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001159110-tv-naming
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Underneath this option: In each Show's recording settings, I have checked "Don't record episodes that are already in my library"
troyhough 61 Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Underneath this option: Episodes will be compared using season and episode numbers, when available. So what database is Emby using for season/episode numbers? Must be different than Plex.
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Whatever is in the guide compared to whatever is in your library.
troyhough 61 Posted March 16, 2020 Author Posted March 16, 2020 Whatever is in the guide compared to whatever is in your library. Yes so I guess where is the guide picking up the episode information from? Maybe I need to change that to what Plex was getting it from so they are the same.
Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We use the same source that they do, but you can see right here in your example: 1. (As shown on Emby Recording Schedule) Pinkalicious & Peterrific - Season 1 25. Monkey Dance; Royal Peacock Dance This is already in my library and saved in Season 1 directory as Pinkalicious & Peterrific (2019) - S01E43 - Monkey Dance; Royal Peacock Dance.ts You have it has episode 43 in your library, so there's really no way for Emby Server to know that they're the same thing. If you change it to 25, the filter will work.

Luke 42078 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I'm not sure what you're asking. All of the examples you gave demonstrate the exact same situation. Therefore, one of two things has happened: Guide data has changed over time and that is why the episode numbers are different now Or you may have renamed the file after recording, perhaps to allow for tvdb metadata

So maybe the best thing to do is use the same source that Plex was pulling their data guide info from?
