Emby Server for Shield TV questions

I'm testing the Emby server for Shield TV and I must say I'm delighted with the speed of the server comparing to the Emby server on my Synology NAS.

I do not see many issues at the moment but it is just two days of use now for me.

 

What I do miss is a server restart option, only shutdown is available.

And there are some plugins not available. I recently purchased the Emby multipack for theme songs etc. but those are not available yet.

I read that the coverart plugin has issues so I did not install that one yet. Is there still an issue with the coverart plugin?

I've tested Emby on different platforms; DietPit (Debian) on a RockPro64, my NAS (QNAP QS-451+) and my nVidia Sheild 2017 (running both the server and being used as a client at the same time).

 

The only issue I had with the Sheild was sometimes the transcoding will chew up your system ram; namely MKV Blu-Ray rips.  But getting a 64GB USB 3 memory stick resolves this without any issues.

 

For the plugins, ensure you click on the Catalog option at the top which will show you all the plugins.

 

Also, I use http://bit.ly (free acount) to create a shortened URL when using Downloader to download updates for the Emby Server. Saves time entering the full URL for updates, etc.

On my Nas I see these theme songs etc. plugins under general.

On my Shield Tv I really don’t see them anywhere.

Make sure you're using the web app to browse the plugin catalog.

I used the web app through Google Chrome. Theme pack plugins not available.

 

I used the web app through Safari on my iPad. Theme pack plugins not available.

 

Through http://app.emby.media/#!/plugins/plugincatalog.html.Theme pack plugins not available.

 

Through ios app also not available.

Through Android app also not availale.

 

Through all these options they are available with Synology Nas.

 

They are just not there on Shield Tv. At least for me.

Gosh you're right. Sorry for doubting you but often times many users will just not scroll and look through the list. But yes that is very strange. I'll have to see why they're not showing as all other plugins appear to be there.

4.4.0.27 solved the issue.

I have installed them but now @@radeon needs to take a look again at my activation.
