FTA7700 0 Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 (edited) Hello, I just moved (or at least trying to) from Plex to Emby. But I have big problems with sorting of the libraries and showing correct metadata for tv shows and movies. My Emby server version is 4.3.1.0, Win 10 Pro x64 build 1903. I have created 2 libraries - movies and tv shows. The tv shows library is full with any type of content (software, music, movies, etc. ), the movies library is empty. The episodes are not sorted in seasons. Complete mess. I tried to recreate the movie library with the same result. The files are locally stored. Will provide additional info if needed. Thanks in advance. Edited March 10, 2020 by FTA7700
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 What paths are you assigned to each library? But Emby is rather specific on content type libraries. No sub-folder can be part of any other library.
Luke 42080 Posted March 10, 2020 Posted March 10, 2020 Hi there, did you follow our TV and movie naming guides? There is a link to them in the library setup screen.
FTA7700 0 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) Hm, thanks for replays. I have one "downloads" folder and everything is there. So I cannot have a single let's call it "source" folder for all libraries? Hi there, did you follow our TV and movie naming guides? There is a link to them in the library setup screen. Nope, I haven't. I'm going to, but I just thought the process of creating libraries is straight forward, similar to Plex. P.S. I have only BRrips, WebRips or similar converted files. No DVD or BR files. All named like that example - Once.Upon.a.Time.in.Hollywood.2019.1080p.BluRay.x264 (that file is not recognised at all). Edited March 11, 2020 by FTA7700
Happy2Play 9782 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Sorry Emby is currently not there yet. You can have a Movies and TV mixed content library, but TV at a minimum has to have a series folder for every show.
Luke 42080 Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 We plan to be able to accommodate a mish mash style of what you're doing, we're just not there yet. You may want to try just setting on one single library using the mixed content type.
FTA7700 0 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 Alright. Thank you folks for the info. I will make mixed library then. And will wait for Emby to advance and supersede Plex with it's major playback issues.
