Playing Next Episode issue

Perhaps this is my inexperience with Emby.

 

I played the first season of a show, and the first episode of the second season, meaning next episode should be s02e02. 

 

While in the TV library, I clicked on the play button at the center of the show card, and it started playing s01e01 the pilot for the show.  Why?  The episodes are marked played correctly.  Shouldn't it default to the next unplayed episode?

 

I am in a web browser, if that matters.

Yes, that button plays all episodes from the beginning. I think that button should play Next Up for started shows.

So by default, I have to drill down to the next episode to play if I want to continue watching a show where it left off.

 

Do the season cards work the same way?  This is completely backwards.  The most common use should be the default.

 

 

Is there any way to change this behavior?

Unfortunately season covers have the same behavior. I had not realized this because I usually continue the series from the "Next Up" row of the home screen.

Sure, but I am following so many shows, and usually pick them up when a season is complete, not as I download them, or they come out.  Plex makes it so easy to just click on the show and pick it back up.

 

:-/  I haven't looked into writing plugins for Emby.  Any clue if this behavior is modifiable or it is just an annoyance I have to work around?

Ok, I finally found a post that is on topic.

Apparently this is a long standing thing.  Luke added a Play Next Up button on the overview screen of the TV-Show.  This is (IMO) at least a usable solution.

 

I still think that Play next should be default, and play all should be something you have to go look for.  ::shrug::

Honest to god, with an attitude like that, you are gonna put Plex out of business.  They are biologically incapable of listening to anyone.
