Premiere feature problem report: photo upload/conversion.

The free edition is fantastic already, but the premiere features are even more attracting, so I get myself a lifetime emby premiere couple of days ago. However, it's not working very well.

The first problem is photo uploading, I have two smartphones as my daily drive and it takes extra effort to sort or use photos from them. So if I can use emby to upload it to my NAS, that will help me alot. But the app didn't work as I expected, here are my operations

---- Jump to More/camera upload. Tick my server and upload only on wifi.

---- Grante storage permission

---- The app detected my DCIM folder(containing 50 photos) and the uploading status bar shows up in my notify area, but not a single photo is uploading. Hours later, the uploading status bar disappears.

---- 6 new libraries with the same name "cameral upload" shows up, but there is nothing in the there, all libraries are empty.

Then I tried to upload photos to a specific folder, not the default one. Before I do that, I turn off the camera upload feature, and reinstall the emby app on my phone, restart the emby server. Then I turn on camera upload and choose a folder on my NAS. This time, only one new library is created, and it do upload things to my NAS after 1 hour, but all photos are damaged, and the file size is just about 100KB.

The second problem is about the video conversion. And the feature is just what I really need, I have a bunch of high bit-rate videos, most of them has a 30Mb or higher bit-rate. But I really don't need to storage them with that high quality, so the conversion and auto conversion features will help me alot if they can work well. Operation list here.

---- Select file or folder to convert

---- choose next to original files-->custom profile-->mp4 container-->hevc codec-->aac audio codec-->8M quality.

But the output file quality is much lower than I select, most of the converted videos have bit-rate around 700kb, few of them are converted to 2000kb. I don't know if there is somthing I missed, but the results are quite annoying.

Client device information:

smart phone--Huawei Mate 20 Pro with Android 10

App -- Emby for android mobile 3.1.5 downloaded from google play.

Server side:

Windows 10 pro 1909, i7-8700, GTX-1080 (with cuda 10.1).

Emby server 4.3.1.0

Preferred hardware decoders and encoders are all using GTX-1080

Networking:

The router is from ISP, I can't give you any more information of the router, but the streaming works well, both on direct or decoded status.

Please help, thanks.

Hi Luke, thanks for your rapid response, sorry that it took me 2 weeks to find the email notice.

I reinstalled my emby server, and the camera uploading issue is gone, every device works pretty well. Before that, only the huawei phone can't upload, iphone and samsung galaxy works well.

However, the conversion issues still exists. I use a 60 Mbps footage as a test. A 8M x264 task and a 8M hevc task were submitted, both use mp4 as container. Here is the property of all three files. Log file is attached too.

convert log 8M hevc.txtconvert log 8M x264.txt
