Hey guys,

@@cayars

@@Abobader

My ISP has pushed a Huawei HG8245Q2 router on to me and, i'm struggling to get it to port forward to enable remote access.  Also, not too hot on this sort of thing so, I could be screwing things up myself.

Anyway, my server is on 192.168.1.66, router is 192.168.1.1.  The router has two options of "Port Mapping" and "Port Trigger" and I'm really not sure which of these I should use.  To help, I've attached a print screen of each so you have an idea what they contain/ask for.

My phone connects OK when it's on Wifi so it's not an authentication issue.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

p.s. I have another media server that I'm trying to migrate away from to come to Emby and the remote access for that is working perfectly.  You can probably guess which one by looking at the ports ;)

Good day,

I did some search, and it should be "Port Mapping", as from this video:

Also, if you on dynamic ip (that the ip change from your ISP) you should consider using DDNS services.

My best

Yea it should be basically the same, just change their ports to our ports.

Thanks for the responses guys! I didn't realise but the reply mail went to junk so had no idea, i've added domain to safe senders.

As can be see, the Emby access is on the same section, i've just added it as extra ports. I know the other solution is still working or my mum would be asking about it.

So, sadly, not helped.

edit: The other app has just told me i'm on indirect playback so actually, the other system isn't working perfectly. It is telling me my public IP is now 88.201.4.94 so I'll change that and try again

edit 2: Nope, no change for Emby where as the other app is now playing direct.

@Stuza I should be able to help you in about 10 minutes time via Teamviewer if this is something you would like to do.

It sounds like you're on the right track but just have something misconfigured.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like to give this a shot.
