CDN hosting issue

I use a CDN.  But either way you will need to setup emby so it is accessible via the internet weather you use a CDN or not.  I would start there... get it working, have your friends try it,  if you have issues you can try adding in a CDN, but its not a magic fix to slow networks, and high latency.   it helps a little.     If you start off going for the gold you will run into all kinds of setup issues, especially if you dont fully understand what every piece does.   Sorry, not trying to be mean or anything...

Offtopic but for those that require streaming long distance, I found using a VPN is by far the easiest way to get this working. Just connect to a server in the country your server is located in and you should be able to stream at high bitrates. This way I can stream cross continents with 10+mbps bitrates while I was lucky to be able to stream at 1mbps with a direct connection.

 

Only downside is Emby isn't great at picking the correct bitrate so I always have to pause and select a higher bitrate. Would be nice to have a force bitrate option or something but I don't stream that often so in my case I don't mind manually changing the bitrate that much.
