Can't connect on local network, only localhost and remote work

As the title says, I can't connect on local network, only localhost and remote work. This started tonight randomly without warning. I have spent hours on the forums trying all solutions to anything remotely similar. All the way up to I have uninstalled the server, cleaned the registry, deleted any residual files in my roaming appdata, changed the ports, tried multiple machines... they work when connected to phone hot spot for remote access, they do not work when connected to the same router/network. Port forwarding is properly set up, servers IP is static. All firewall exceptions are set up on machine and on router. when I try to access server through the "Emby connect" website on the server machine by clicking on my server name it gives me the error that I can not connect. When I access through Localhost:8096 it works fine.

I'm at a loss here as to why this suddenly happened. The only difference that I have noticed is the dashboard is no longer showing the local IP, before it was an odd MAC ID looking number boxed in with [ ] symbols. never was a 192.168.

now it just shows what I have attached as an image.

It doesn't mention any local address, just the port it is running on...

I can post and logs if needed if you tell me how... I'm not familiar with logs to any degree and am usually a figure it out on my own kinda guy but this problem is really testing my patience.

Any help you offer is greatly appreciated! hope your day is great!

The number in [] brackets suggests an IPv6 address (which would also have colons instead of stops dividing it up).

If you type ipconfig on a command line, what IP addresses does it list?

Here is the ip listed on the gen ipconfig. it shows the properly assigned static IP from the router when i look at the specific adapter i am using to connect to wifi.

" Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : home
   IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.7
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
   Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1"

Ipconfig /all shows

"Connection-specific DNS Suffix  . : home
   Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265
   Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 94-B8-6D-6E-37-73
   DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
   Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
   IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.7(Preferred)
   Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
   Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Friday, March 6, 2020 11:09:10 AM
   Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Monday, March 9, 2020 11:09:10 AM
   Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
   DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
   DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
   NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled"

I have tried using the ipv4 address in manual server setup to no avail. I cant seem to find anything in reference to an Ipv6 address....

Just in case it is helpful here is the full ipcongif and ipconfig /all... It looks odd compared to what I am familiar with and seems to be missing information...

extra information: I believe this began after I disconnected from my VPN last night. I do not have the server set up through the vpn, I've always used Emby on a local network and never through a vpn... perhaps the VPN tap or something has locked up and is not allowing traffic to be referred to the server? Ill try with vpn uninstalled to see, i doubt it but I'm desperate. lol

Not sure what is going on but if you bind your server to that address, does it work?  Dashboard-Network "Bind to local network address"

Does this system have static or reserved ipaddress?  Binding will cause issues if this system does change addresses.

Hey guys,

So upon uninstall of my VPN and a reboot of the server, the In-Home (LAN) access address populated. I had to manually type in the server address to my smart TV (clicking server name would not work) but it worked.

Is anyone aware of what happened or any work-arounds to play nice with a VPN?

Perhaps I have something set up wrong somewhere...

Hope this post helps another soul in need! ...

Will have to search the forum but pretty sure you have to bind your address.

Hey guys,

Thank you Happy2Play for pointing me in the right direction!

So I fiddled around with it for a bit and was able to get it up and running just fine with the VPN.

Binding it to the statically assigned local network IP (I.E. 192.168.1.*) fixed it.

Solution:
Dashboard -> network -> Bind to local network address: *enter static assigned local server machine ip*

My god, something so simple yet gave me so much trouble and happened out of no where too. Dunno if this works with VPN turned on so for anyone reading keep that in mind. Must be something to do with the added network tap from the VPN changing local machine information.

Thank you all for your help!
