Library Stopped Reading New Folders

It's been a few months since Emby has added a film/folder into one particular library. It has added movies and TV shows into my Standard Definition Library and my Television Library but no luck for my HD Library. I have tried the basics but nothing easy has worked (make sure it's plugged in, reinstall, etc). I have done some experimenting to see if the program is having trouble with the original library name so I deleted the library from emby and added it back using a different name. No success. I removed the library again (even though there were 0 titles in it) and actually renamed the Windows folder and the share path. Then I tried creating a new library based off of that and still nothing.

I have also created a new folder with some (because I can't just copy all of them over or I will run out of space) of the HD Library movies and they propagate into the new folder/library in emby right away.

So now I have deleted the metadata folders (all of them, which are on a separate HDD) and still nothing. While I am waiting for all of that to download again, I thought I would come on here and see if anyone has any advice or seen this before.

Just delete Emby, and reinstall. And start from scratch. Be sure you have deleted all Emby folders on your hdd, and cleanswipe your registry. Good luck!

Out of wife aggro (must get her movies on the system or the system will end up the first of my toys to go) I am going to attempt to wipe emby from the server and try fresh. I do have the user profiles backed up, I am hoping I can leave those since I don't see why they would affect the ability to scan/cache the folders. I know where/how to the delete the emby folders but I am not sure on the registry cleaning. Any assistance there?

Uninstalled. Had the annoying message that 4.3.1 was supposed to fix regarding the Emby server still on the programs list, even after an uninstall. Found the registry key thanks to some other forum posts and now it is removed from that list. Did a windows folder search for emby and deleted all the files and folders that referenced emby. Most were browser caches but there were some .net files that were mentioned. Hope I didn't wreck .net but, considering I only use this server for emby, a new installation should fix any errors. We'll see.

Well, I'm stuck. Other than uninstalling windows and trying again, I don't know what to do. Emby does not want to load any movies into the library from the folder. I've renamed it dozens of times now and it still does not work. It has the exact same permissions and sharing settings as the other folders that work and load into the library flawlessly.

There has to be some file or something in the folder that must be telling emby to think it's empty. It's the on the same Drive Path as the other folders that work.

Any help?

One more data point to add then I'm done for the night. The folder has 5.5TB of files in it and is my largest folder on the array. However, the next folder is 5.3TB in size and it is being read just fine. This problem started around Xmas, or at least when I started noticing the issue. I had not put a HD movie into the system since October 15th. So, I could have been having this issue for a month or two not even notice it until December 24th and even then, I could have attributed it to the server being slow.

I don't know if any this coincided with the 4.x.x updates being more folder friendly or not. That is all I have for now.

I have now installed emby on a different computer, pointed to the Folder that is giving me trouble, and it also does not load into the library. I checked the other folders and they all load appropriately. I'm really at a loss. Does anyone have any help they can give me?

Ok. Found it. It was a folder inside the main directory that was corrupted. It cannot be deleted because Windows says the folder does not exist, though I am looking right at it. I moved my library to a new folder and it is now reading as intended. I have no way to delete this folder now (and it's parent folder) but I can leave it sit for now.

I occasionally get that one my Insider machine.  Usually have to restart the machine.

That's interesting, thanks for the feedback. So are you all set now?

Yes, everything is working as normal. As a side note, that Windows folder refuses to be deleted and the same goes for it's parent folder (my old Blu-Ray folder). I know what Happy2Play means regarding the Insider restarts. This seems to be a different animal, though it is not affecting my emby library any further.

Thanks for checking in!
