Luke 42078 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 What is a good option, install the beta to have a new version You could also try installing the beta on top of your existing version, yes.
Hyp3rD 10 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 I have 50go free and all the rest work on the disk
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 I have this error on install... I assume that translates to the folder is still in use, meaning something is holding that folder. Make sure all Emby tabs are closed in your browser and there are still no processes still running. Then try the install again.
Hyp3rD 10 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Nothing seem to work, so I have rename the Emby-Server folder and restore a full backup of the folder and everything restart normally... I hope this bug will not happen again ...? How can I save the db of users and server if I ever have to start from scratch? I don't have Emby Premiere, so I can't use the plugin at the moment ... Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help! You can try copying the Emby-Server\programdata folder over to your Portable install replacing the current one. But something on your system is blocking the appdata install.

Thanks for your help! We don't know that it's a bug yet , although I apologize for the disruption you are having. It is still possible there could be multiple instances of the server running, which would explain why the folder is locked. How many windows users do you have on the machine?
Hyp3rD 10 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Hello @@Luke, at first, I did not mean to say that it was your fault, far from it, it was simply to say that restoring a backup does not determine what caused the problem, hence my fears , but I will monitor everything. For Windows accounts, there is only one, but before I started the service with nssm, which I removed in all my tests and I did not deliver it, we will see. I was wondering, the backup plugin is only available for Emby "Supporters", would it be possible to make it available to everyone, at least to allow 1 backup of our instances? I think this function is essential considering the time we put on our servers, it should, in my opinion, be "built-in" in Emby. I am aware that this plugin required development time, but backups are essential these days ... Thanks!
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 But your issue is within your OS user profile (I am guessing), as you have already reinstalled and a Portable worked. Are you planning to reinstall OS? Did you restore a full system backup or just a backup of the Emby-Server folder? The Emby-server\programdata is all you need to transfer into a new install. Just like the plugin if paths are changing you could have issue. If they are not you are golden.
Luke 42078 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 @@Hyp3rD were you able to get back up and running? @@cayars can jump on a TeamViewer with you if you're still having issue. Thanks !
Carlo 4561 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 @Hyp3rD if still having a problem, send me a PM and I'd be happy to assist you one on one.
Hyp3rD 10 Posted March 9, 2020 Author Posted March 9, 2020 Hi, thank you for the offer, but like I had say there: Nothing seem to work, so I have rename the Emby-Server folder and restore a full backup of the folder and everything restart normally... Everything work perfect for now, but I didn’t find what had cause this issue, I hope that it was a isolated event. Thank you very much for your followed. Have a nice day!
