Hi,

I have a couple MKV files that won't show a duration (so i can't FF/RW) on Emby web interface or Emby Roku App.

It is not an Emby issue as the same thing happens when I tested the file with VLC on windows 10 (no duration, but i can FF/RW this time) and Roku media player alone (which cannot do anything but play the file from the begining, even pause starts the file from the start...), but I was hoping someone would have a suggestion on how i could fix the file so it can be processed and watched correctly.

Thanks!

Possibly run it through MKVToolNix

Thanks @@Happy2Play

I downloaded MKVToolNix and I loaded the MKV file but when I tell it to remux the output file finishes in a seconds with a file that’s like 4kb (from a file that was 2.6GB..)

Is there something I have to set in that software that I’m not aware of?

No you should be able to drop the file in the program and start multiplexing.  If that file is that broken it may need to be reencoded.  But others may ideas.
