nedokot 0 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Hello! I experience problems with transcoding the large 1080p and 2160p mkv files playing on apple TV 4K with emby app, especially the dark scenes, and think of using hardware acceleration. Could you please suggest what is the best option and which kind of hardware would work best? My server specs as following: MB: ASUS RS160-S5/PX4 CPU: Intel Xeon E5450 3Ghz x2 (8 cores in total) RAM: 16GB DDR2 667MHz FBDIMM Disk Array Huawei OceanStor S2300 connected via LSI MegaRAID SAS 9285CV-8e controller OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Thanks in advance!
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Check the emby hardware subforum - lots of threads on this also your cpu does not have quicksync - so software decoding/encoding only on the cpu so gpu card is your best bet although being on 2012r2 may present its own challenges with drivers - so you need to check that out
nedokot 0 Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 Thanks! Will try GeForce GTX 1050 gpu and see if it helps
