1971camaroguy 32 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I am pretty sure this isn't an emby related issue, but I wanted to ask in case someone has seen this before. I have some random MKV movie rips that emby will not show the video details, it's blank where it should be on the dashboard. On some of these movies it plays just fine, but on the majority of them I can't rewind or FF them...when I try to FF, it goes back to the beginning of the movie. If I stop the movie halfway through it just resumes. But I can play the file in windows, like with VLC and it works fine. One example is Amazing Spiderman Blue-Ray, I ripped it with Make MKV, and compressed in handbrake...but it's annoying not being able to forward through the movie or at least start where I left off. I don't think it's even pulling the scenes, but on some I click on the scenes it starts at the beginning. Any ideas? I was wondering if there were some mkv file experts that might know what's going on? Thanks in advance
ebr 16187 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 I suspect something going wrong in your secondary processing. What happens if you don't compress it with handbrake?
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 sounds like its whatever setting you used in handbrake are the issue - you need to experiment with different profiles etc MakeMKV does not touch the encoding in anyway
1971camaroguy 32 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Thanks both of you, I took the file and remuxed the compressed file through MKVNix and not changing anything and it fixed the issue with being able to seek and click on a marker thumbnail. Weirdest thing. I am going to re-rip the blue-ray to MKV and drop the full uncompressed file in there and see what happens
