PhantomCircuit 6 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Hi, "This will not backup library contents and metadata. To keep a permanent copy of metadata, we suggest enabling saving of local metadata to media folders" I cannot find the option to enabling saving of local metadata. Please help.
arrbee99 1815 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 Hopefully this is what you mean - more or less in the middle. 1
PhantomCircuit 6 Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 Hopefully this is what you mean - more or less in the middle. thanks. i check the options as you showed.
PhantomCircuit 6 Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 These are per library options. i've enabled these options on the libraries. then i saw this message at "nfo metadata" page next i try to refresh Metadata and i was given these options. can you let me know what these options means and what should i safely choose so that my previously added metadata will be added to the backup ? thanks
Luke 42078 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Are those options not clear about what they do? I'm just asking for feedback so that we can improve it. I thought they were pretty self explanatory.

This replacing means taking all the info i've entered and saved it into the currently blank nfo side ? while 'search for missing metadata' will ignore the newly created (after enabling the options) ?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 If you have items you have customized you have to open the item in Metadata Manager or Edit Metadata on the item and select save to get a nfo file written. A search for Missing may work as it will write the nfo with all existing and new missing metadata. But if there is nothing new then I don't believe a nfo will be written. Refresh Replace All does exactly that, pulls the online provider data and writes the nfo. If you had any customization it would be lost.

PhantomCircuit 6 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 Refresh replace all Refresh Replace All does exactly that, pulls the online provider data and writes the nfo. You should have a nfo file save with your media.
PhantomCircuit 6 Posted March 6, 2020 Author Posted March 6, 2020 You should have a nfo file save with your media. can you show a sample ?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 can you show a sample ? It is a pretty standard Kodi nfo file. If you have the option enabled on the library and go to any item and edit metadata and hit save you should see that nfo with your media. I can post one if you really need one though.

I am not familiar with non-Windows OSes but the Emby user needs permission. What system is Emby on? Looks like Luke beat me to that link.
