Faster Scanning?

Any progress on how to scan folders faster then what it is current. Takes nearly 2 hours just to scan a 500G hard drive and nearly 2 days for anything over 1TB.. so what is it doing when it scanning? If i change servers, i have to repeat this and takes even longer sometimes. So how can i move servers and beable to keep what i got in tact so it wont have to rescan and waist time..

How can i move to a faster server in the future if needed without the need to spend 2-4 days just to import videos.

There should be something in the way your library is setup or configured cause i have a 10TB library and it takes minutes!

sorry for late response.. its a map drive on another network that is not local. But they are on a 10gps network just like i am, so speed shouldnt be a issue.. so what does it do to scan? Should it just the scan the folder and import then do a meta download?
