simonmason 19 Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 I am using Emby within our house - mostly TVs that are hard wired through ethernet. As much as possible I store content at 4K for use in the house. I have kids away at college and they have a hard time watching 4K movies. One is on an LG TV and they have to drop the bitrate on their end down to a level that severely degrades the quality in order to watch this. I don't have an LG TV so I am not clear on the settings, Is it best to store a 4K version and then store a copy at a lower resolution? If so, what options should I select on the Convert menu - I am unclear as to the need/difference between 4 mbps vs 8 mbps and so on? Thanks.
simonmason 19 Posted March 2, 2020 Author Posted March 2, 2020 I am not sure exactly what they are doing but they said they have to reduce it down to 480p - 720kbps in the interface in order for it to play ok.
Luke 42083 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 @@simonmason that doesn't sound normal. this could be due to ISP throttling, perhaps on their end. Have you looked into this?
