simjan 0 Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Hi! After a reinstallation of my laptop (Win 10) and a fresh install of Chrome I get a menu bar at the bottom instead of the normal web interface. Tried to find som info and have tried to change the scaling to lowest value but nothing works. Running on 1920*1080 on a 14 inch screen. The screen is touchscreen and I did see something that this might be a cause but I have no idea how to get it back to the regular web interface. Would appreciate some help with this since it´s really annoying. I´ve been running the webinterface for years on different laptops and never had this problem.
Luke 42089 Posted February 29, 2020 Posted February 29, 2020 Hi there, yes it's because of the touch screen. We are looking into it. Thanks.
simjan 0 Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 Becoming very frustrated with this. Still cannot get the Desktop interface. I have asked about this before and noticed the settings that was introduced a while back but it makes no difference. The UI for desktop and touch is still the same no matter what I choose in the settings. I have now lived with a limited interface for long enough and would like some actual response to when this will be adressed? It is ANNOYING not to be able to use Emby as intended just because I have a touchscreen!!! Or have I completely missed something and the desktop UI is gone forever?
simjan 0 Posted May 8, 2020 Author Posted May 8, 2020 (edited) Hi, yes a wireless mouse. Could that make a difference? Disconnected it but cant see any change. Edited May 8, 2020 by simjan
Luke 42089 Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 What version of chrome do you have? Do you have windows 10 running in tablet mode?
simjan 0 Posted May 9, 2020 Author Posted May 9, 2020 (edited) Hi again! Chrome is latest version as far as I know, (Version 81.0.4044.138 (Officiell version) (64 bitar)). And no, I am usually not running in tablet mode. I only use that very seldom. I have also tried (although a while back) to clear all cached browser data, reset to default settings in the browser but nothing seems to help. I have also tried with Firefox, no difference. I have also (yesterday) verified with a non touch desktop computer that the old desktop UI is there and it is. UPDATE: Well I have solved the problem but cannot really say what the exact solution or problem was. I updated the touchscreen firmware, reinstalled basically all drivers and component registry for the laptop model and the problem was gone. Remains to be seen if any future updates changes this since some of the drivers were older versions. Although it ´s a bit annoying not being able to tell why this behaviour existed I am glad it´s gone. Thanks for your time and effort Luke! Edited May 9, 2020 by simjan
