jasonmcroy 316 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Hello. I am using MBC version 3.0.73.0, MB3 server version 3.0.5029.36830. My OS is Windows 7. When watching any video file in MBC when I try to fast forward or rewind, it doesn't work. The OSD comes up but nothing happens. Is the FF and RW keyboard shortcuts the same for MBC as it is for MCE? The skip forward and skip backwards function just fine, just not FF or RW. Thanks.
Solution ebr 16169 Posted October 9, 2013 Solution Posted October 9, 2013 This is a limitation of playback of some media types within WMC. One thing that works in all of them, I think, is to punch in a number (like 30) and then hit FF and it will move ahead that number of seconds. Also, there are add-on products like MediaControl that will allow you to FF/RW some formats that WMC can't natively. 1
jasonmcroy 316 Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks for your response. I just wasn't sure if I was doing something incorrectly or not. So this sounds like a media center issue, not a MBC issue?
ebr 16169 Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Correct. We just hand off the playback to either WMC or an external player. I've found the "enter the seconds and FF" to work very well.
jasonmcroy 316 Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Ok cool. Thanks again for your quick response.
Deihmos 169 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) You can get ff and rewind plus subtitle management by installing mediacontrol and using ffdshow as your decoder. I couldn't do without this software. http://sourceforge.net/projects/mediacontrolmce/files/ Edited October 12, 2013 by Deihmos
