Luke 42078 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Can you please attach that to this post? Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted February 27, 2020 Posted February 27, 2020 Can you try lowering the in-app quality setting? Thanks.
brofjst 0 Posted February 27, 2020 Author Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) i lowered to 480p (it was 1080p) the issue persists Update: if i change subtitles 2 or 3 times in a row, the video get stuck: it seems that every time i do an action that force the video to reload, there is an high probability that emby freezes Update 2: lowering again the quality (360p) solved the issue: how can i solve it? i've always watched video at a much higher resolution with emby and the issue didn't appear in the past Edited February 27, 2020 by brofjst
brofjst 0 Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 (edited) both remote and local i do not think that the issue is the connection quality: i can watch, even in remote, the avenger movie at 1080p 10Mbps HVEC w/o any issue.i think the problem is related to certain files but i do not understand what it could be: every movie in my library si converted to H265 with handbrake, some movies works perfectly, others presents some issues like breaking bad in which when i try to change subtitles language or audio language emby crashes (but if i change audio/subtitles in the avengers movie there is no issue).I've also noticed that the "resume from" function is a bit bugged, sometimes if i use it to start a movie emby crashes, and it will keep to crash everytime i try to resume the movie, the only way to fix the bug is play from beginning the movie, then the resume function back to work Edited March 4, 2020 by brofjst
Luke 42078 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 Can you provide a sample video for testing? Thanks.
brofjst 0 Posted March 4, 2020 Author Posted March 4, 2020 (edited) Resume bug https://streamable.com/5hd1c Subtitles/audio switch bug https://streamable.com/771ns In this video https://streamable.com/c0soc i show the issue with the resolution (this is the same movie that i posted in the second video which freezed when i switched subtitles at a resolution of 720p.): i started with an high resolution of 720p 2Mbps and emby loaded it correctly, then i switched to a much lower resolution 360p and i tried to switch audio/subtitles many times and emby never crashed, then i switched to a very high resolution 720p 10Mbps and emby loaded it correctly, but when i tried to switch audio language emby crashed Update: Sometimes emby crashes even if i switch resolution, but is aleatory: i've just switched from 720p 2Mbps to 720p 10Mbps and it crashed; it was the same breaking bad episode posted it the last 2 videos. The only way to avoid any bug is to set all the setting before start the movie in the following screen https://i.ibb.co/3ddC9Fq/Screenshot-from-2020-03-04-18-40-09.png The problem is that in that screen there is no option for video quality so if i wanna change it i have to start the video, switch the quality, emby crashes, restart the video (it remembers the last setting) Edited March 4, 2020 by brofjst
Luke 42078 Posted March 4, 2020 Posted March 4, 2020 I mean the actual video, rather than a demonstration of the problem. Is that possible?
brofjst 0 Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 Sure https://mega.nz/#!UwgXjQaD!oVnzqL2L_wSuYcqxYC5T-UON-mfNrUIRe5pAplO3huU
BobbyCR 13 Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Is this Direct Play? i had an issue with the subtitles type SUB on my TV, or my tablet can't remember which one, so if i changed the subtitles it will freeze but it was actually changing to trans-coding because the subtitles were not supported by the device i was watching on. Not saying that's the issue here but it could be worth checking.

Luke 42078 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Can we look at another example using the 4.4.2 release? Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 When you say it freezes at the start, does it ultimately recover and start playing?
brofjst 0 Posted April 29, 2020 Author Posted April 29, 2020 no, if i "resume from minute" it does not start, neither waiting some minutes, the only way to make it work is to play the movie from beginning. Also it still crashes when i switch subtitles or audio language
Happy2Play 9780 Posted April 30, 2020 Posted April 30, 2020 @@Luke if this is a item with a Resume point and the item is transcoded, wouldn't one have to wait on the server to retranscode to said resume point? Same goes for changing subtitle or audio tracks. But it appears the title does not match the issue being described if a item plays from the beginning.
