Chromecast dashboard activity issue

hi there,

 

When there are 2 users playing some content and use a chromecast as streaming device. 1 activity card is showing both streaming activities. Its changing back and forth between the 2 users. Is this a known issue? Could not really find anything regarding it on the forum.

Hi, yes it's a known issue when the Chromecast devices have the same name. Currently it's the only way for us to uniquely identify them. Until we're able to rework this, the easiest workaround is to just rename one of them.

When looking for devices, actually not seeing any Chromecast device. Seems they are getting displayed as Chrome Android.

Hi.  He means change the name on the Chromecast itself (go into its settings).

Meaning I need to contact all my users to change their Chromecast name, this is not really a convenient work around as you would understand. Hopefully 1 day it can be fixed
