Old user back, looking for missing settings.

Hi all, hoping i am just looking in the wrong place for the Metadata and images settings.

I started using Emby back when it was MB3. Loved the highly configurable settings.

In trying to re setup a server i cant find the options to set the Meta data and like files onto a separate drive. Its dumped them into the Video folders and that WILL NOT work for me. My video files reside on a couple platter drives. Where as access data like the meta and images will be on a NVME drive.

Win 10 Pro

Emby 4.3.1.0

Thoughts?

If you go into Libraries and then advanced you'll see the option. Personally i don't think you'll see any difference between having them on nvme vs. traditional HDD.

Seems i can't get the server to reliably start without causing a full system lock requiring a hard reset. were up to 6 random locks. This latest was upon launch

last log attached.

As for access time for nvme over a parked HDD yes there is a huge difference, once spun up its still noticeable.

While the quick test doesn't take a parked drive into account it dose show the difference between them, X being the newest drive in the HDD lineup.

Once i get it to boot again without locking up, i will try the setting you mentioned

Thanks

J

Hi there, welcome back. this is actually disabled by default. Why did you turn it on?

I'm not saying the NVME isn't faster just that for loading metadata i don't see a difference.

Correct - because those files are only accessed at scan time. During normal use, everything is coming from the db or cache.
