Can Emby see local USB drives on NVidia Shield?

Just curious.  That would be really awesome since I just got one of these.  I'd like to setup a separate library on the Shield with an attached USB drive if possible.  Thanks.

You can also network share a usb device connected to the Shield and then you should be able to point a library to that share from wherever your server is.  However, not sure that would be such a good idea because every time you shut down your Shield that library becomes unavailable.

Possible i'm not being clear enough.  I have a Shield with a usb drive connected.  I would like Emby to see and play files off that drive instead of my Emby server that runs on my machine in another part of the house.

You could only do this with either the server on the Shield or using the network share method mentioned above (in which case the server would take it from the Shield and send it back).

In order for the Emby app to play a file off the usb though the Emby server has to see it.  You can't just eliminate the server.  If you want to so something like that then just use VLC or some other media playing app
