Huawei mediapad t5 movie lagging

Hi,

 

Using my tablet with some anime movies with ass styled subs the reproduction is lagging..

 

I attach some screens of file info and I can provide the file..

 

Additional info:

Using external player (mx player) the play is normal..

Using my phone with emby player the problem doesn't occur..

At the moment these anime movie are only in hevc so I can't answer you..

this evening I try to do some tests..

 

IMHO the problem is the ass/ssa styled subs (with fonts inside the files)..

Hi Luke,

I tried the same movie in h264 and it doesn't seem to lag..

So for me the problem is hevc + sub ssa styled on my tablet (android 8)

To do some test I need to find other movies in my server with ass subs..

Are there some kind of function on emby to do this search?

so, the problem IMHO is big with my device..

I made some tests, all with HEVC files

 

1. Batman ninja - KO - LAG

 

2. Into The Wild - Nelle Terre Selvagge - KO - LAG

 

3. Jumanji - OK - NO LAG

 

4. Justice League - Il trono di Atlantide KO - LAG

direct play: 

forcing transcode at 720p 1.5MBPS (lower than original) I have NO LAG: 

 

5. Ozark - S01E01 - OK - NO LAG

 

6. The Good Place - S01E01 - OK - NO LAG

i'm seeing something similar on the xiaomi mi 8 lite android 10

 

all my HEVC (sdr, hdr, 8 bit, bt709, 10bit, bt2020) files stutter in emby with high CPU usage, while all these play perfectly fine with GPU decoding in other players like vlc (direct and as external player in emby)
