Punt1971 1 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 When I try and add a new folder to my library it doesn't work. Here's the steps I take... Click Add Media Library Content Type - Movies Click Add Folders Click through the various folder until I reach the desired folder This is where I have the issue. As soon as I click on the desired folder, the path disappears from the folder box, which is now outlined red and I need to click the magnifying glass to start again. If I manually enter the path, it finds no media. The folder I'm trying to add has the same permissions as my existing library folders and is in the same root folder too. I'm running the latest version of Emby on CentOS 7.7.1908. I'm trying to add the folders through windows and have tried on both Firefox and Chrome. Any ideas? Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Hi, you can attach an emby server log and i'll verify, but this means the emby server process does not have permissions to read the contents of the folder. We need to update the dialog to be more user friendly in this aspect and inform you of what the problem is. Make sure the emby system user has permissions for it. Solution Punt1971 1 Posted February 15, 2020 Author Solution Posted February 15, 2020 Hi It seems I had some ACLs on my folder? I'm not overly proficient with linux but can usually get by, but I didn't know about these. Anyway, I removed the ACLs and everything seems to be good now. Thanks for the very quick response and your help. JP 1
