austinchief 5 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I recently updated my router to pfsense. Since updating, emby-server can no longer access internet for plug-in updates or library meta-data searches. What IS working: 1) remote access to emby server. 2) full access to emby-server functionality as a USER. In other words ... it works fine as long as I don't need to update library, check for a new version of emby-server, or browse the plug-in catalog. Server log attached. This is a ROUTER issue ... I get that ... but I don't know what my router is blocking. emby-server is running on Centos7. I was on stable release 4.3.0.1, then tried beta 4.4.0.13. Both exhibit same issue. embyserver.txt
Luke 42078 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 HI, some users have seen success by disabling ipv6 on their router, it could be worth a shot. Are you sure it's the router doing the blocking and not any security software on the server machine?
austinchief 5 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Nothing on server machine ... it was working just fine using other router ... this only happened when switching to new pfsense router. I'll try disabling IPV6
austinchief 5 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Let me eat some crow ... that worked!!!! disabling ipv6 is a multi-step process on pfsense ... and I missed a step. Now it seems to be working again!
Luke 42078 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 That's interesting, thanks for the feedback. I don't know why that helped yet, I've just seen a few people mention that before.
