MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I got a new video card GTX 1650 and i'm trying hardware transcoding and no matter what i do it seems to use the cpu these files have no subtitles so i thought it would use the GTX and not the cpu here are my settings
Luke 42081 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Hi there, did you follow our hardware acceleration setup guide?
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) hi there I guess i'm having trouble understanding how to set it up I thought all you needed was the proper hardware and to enable it I do have the latest drivers which it recommends other then that i'm at a loss of what to do to get it to work Edited February 14, 2020 by MisterAngelus
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 I attached an image during a conversion i just attempted looks to me it's using the CPU I'm trying to figure how to setup and get it to use my GPU Which I think Emby supports so i must have a missed a step
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 is the log for conversion just the emby server log?
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 no it must be the emby trascode.txt it just created when i started it to give you a fresh log
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 do you have a preferred length i let this convert before stopping it to give you enough information
Luke 42081 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Yes just the transcode log, no preferred lenght.
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 your requested log ffmpeg-transcode-dad319bd-164e-4071-98ba-37490c3c36ee_1.txt
Luke 42081 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Ok this is 10-bit content. This should be improved with the next release. Thanks.
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 hmm I didnt know that I thought it was 8-bit according to the emby web interface Color space bt709 Color transfer bt709 Bit depth8 bit Pixel formatyuv420p Ref frames1 NAL4 but if it's 10 that would explain it
Luke 42081 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Sorry, my mistake. I think you're right. There's a lot of hardware transcoding improvements coming in the next release that may help with this. @@softworkz can take a look.
MisterAngelus 7 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 not a big deal I've just heard everybody talk about hardware acceleration transcoding and thought with the new card i would love to get to work
