Sammy 790 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 The other day while at dinner my brother in law called saying he couldn't log in. I, being in a hurry and the nice guy I am, set him up with my full privileges log in for his Roku. The next day I went to reset his p/w only to come to a situation where I wasn't quite sure of the spelling of his username so I didn't enter a user name. This in turn set all passwords to null. Now I want to force passwords on everybody and especially revoke my BiL's connection to my account. How best to accomplish this task? I was thinking of giving everyone a simple password and a few days for them to change it or even creating separate passwords for all of them but I am not sure how to revoke an Emby Connect login. I was not paying well enough attention at the time and should have just not done anything about it. It is the SERVER user I logged into on Emby Connect https://emby.media/pin.html . I'll need to create a new admin login, delete the old one and then have everybody re-authorize.. There's no other way to disassociate and Emby Connect account from a device? Could I tell the server not to connect to that specific Roku and call it good? My BiL doesn't have my login creds.. Hmm. As I type I have a solution. I will merely go to his house, about a mile from me, log him out and then log him back into Emby using his account. This should keep my server account separate, no?
Luke 42086 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 There's no other way to disassociate and Emby Connect account from a device? You can disassociate their Emby Connect from your server, but not from their device.
Sammy 790 Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 So if I go there and log out their Roku from Emby Connect and then log them back in under their own Emby Connect account they could still log back into my server without my server's Emby Connect Credentials? Sammy 790 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) Yes. Any possibility of changing that? If not I'll need to create a new server user and then delete the old one but does it matter? Will everybody still be able to log in to the server even if I change the administrator's username? Luke 42086 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Yes i think there's room for improvement here. Thanks for the feedback. 1
