hedgehog90 19 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Emby correctly identifies the film L'Atalante from 1934, and shows me the poster art when I click 'Replace existing images', but afterwards, there is no poster image and it reverts to using the backdrop as the thumbnail. When I go to 'Edit images', I notice that when I click the search icon near the empty Primary image it shows 0 results, but when I click 'All languages' it reveals 3, including the one that shows when I use Identify. My proposed fix: By default, Emby should use the film's TMDB's language metadata as an indicator as to which language it retrieves the poster art. And in failing to retrieve any results, it should revert to using any language that the poster art is available in. Perhaps TMDB we can't rely on the language of each submitted poster art image, they might be wrong, but at the very least there should be some backup method to use any language poster image if it fails to find any in the user's defined language.
Luke 42095 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Hi there, did you check to see what images are available based on your chosen image language in your library settings?
hedgehog90 19 Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 Hi there, did you check to see what images are available based on your chosen image language in your library settings? My chosen image language is English and for this particular film I get 0 English image results. But it's a French film and so has only french images on TMDB, but Emby decides to choose no image.
Luke 42095 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 It is currently based on your chosen image language but that can be improved. Thanks. 1
RobinM 6 Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Hi Luke, Maybe its a different issue but for some series primary images are not showing up, this one for example: https://thetvdb.com/series/hoogvliegers Its Dutch series, library is set to english - united states. No preferred language have been set for images. When searching nothing comes up, also when setting 'All languages' true.
