Why not use the thumbnails of a album included in mp3?

I notice that Emby is using musicbrainz to get the album thumbnails online. All my mp3's or flac's have their album thumbnails inside the file. It takes so much time if you have a large library (50.000 music track alone). Why not give a setting for using thumbnails included in file in stead of collecting them agaim online?

Emby does use this, just make sure that you have the Image Extractor enabled in the section Audio Image Fetchers of your music library (advanced settings).

 

You might also disable automatic download of internet metadata.

Isn't this the reason the image extractor is optional? Also, I think I've mentioned this before somewhere, it would be very good if there was an option to display the embedded images on screen while playing, instead of a folder.jpg. I've jumbled together quite a few mix-tapes, but having the folder.jpg (or poster.jpg) which Emby automatically chose based on the first track always displayed, doesn't look very nice. For example, I have an image of Queen on screen while Emby is playing ACDC...

Thanks Serpi. Didn't see that. Great. It's also much faster now. I'm not worried about the quality. The lowest of my thumbnails are 500x500. They look great even on my 65".

This doesn't work for me. Emby takes the images from fanart.tv.

Artist pictures from fanart.tv are used as album images, embedded images are ignored. Image extractor is enabled.

MP3s are correctly tagged with MP3Tag - Metadata IDs/source: Musicbrainz

 

Also tried to disable music album picture fetchers (musicbrainz, fanart, audiodb) - no effect.

Generate NFO enabled, no NFO files are saved in the directories.

After each change in this specific library, I rescanned it and refreshed metadata (with the option replace existing metadata).

Emby is fantastic for movies, but I think I have to find an alternative for music.

I'm already on 4.4.

I moved to Plex with my music collection, you can select use embedded images in Tags instead of online images, which is working very good.

For movies I stay with Emby ;-)

We do support embedded images, but if you have images in the album folder those will get priority.
