Hi

I'm planning use my newly built pc as a 24/7 server.

but i want to keep all my existing mb3 server settings intact.. (obs with static ip)

all my media storage will be still the same as they're stored on NAS box.

we don't yet have a migration mechanism. until then, a plain old re-installation is the recommended approach.

This is by no means an official, or officially supported option but I was able to install MBS on my new server and then copy the entire folder from my old server... and presto... done. Everything on my new server was the same as the old (computer name, user, IP, and location of media)

The search tool is always useful.

Q: How do I backup my MB3 data if I need to reinstall it?

A: Under C:\Users\WINDOWS_USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Server, you can backup the “config”, “data”, “plugins”, and “root” folders once MB3 server has been shutdown, and then restore them once MB3 server has been re-installed (shutdown after re-install and initial set up).

I'm waiting for the day when I reply to someone that Luke was previously talking to in a thread and he says... "You're in my spot"

I copied over the folder in appdata and didn't have a problem.
