CBers 7450 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) Just realised that NzbDrone uses Trakt to keep its tv shows upto date. Trakt in turn get their information from Tvdb, so if there are any syncing delays, NzbDrone could have an issue knowing about TV shows airing. If you are a Trakt VIP member, you can force the update from TVDB. sfnetwork 514 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Is there an obvious reason for not directly using TVDB API and go through Trakt? Just curious of why the middle man....
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 They might have chosen the Trakt API as easier to work with.

Not sure - I've tacked that question onto the end of my comment. They might have chosen the API as easier to work with. Possibly. . Edited June 28, 2014 by CBers
Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Cbers I just got your nevermind comment. I think what he means to say is that when there are updates available, they will be posted on the trello board. Remember, they have it filed as low priority on Trello which means it could be any amount of time before they actually get to it. Instead of taking the route of sounding like impatient user, I guarantee you'll have more success by getting other people to go in there and chime in. That's the only way you'll get them to rethink the priority.
CBers 7450 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) I only commented as no one had since your last post. I saw delphiactual had put something on the Trello board about the series.xml content (is he one of ours?). If people following this thread could vote on the Trello board entry (see first post in this thread), then we might get some positive progress. . Edited June 28, 2014 by CBers
Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Yup that's a good idea. I don't know that name so i don't think he's one of ours. Of course, we are about to support reading Xbmc nfo's, so once they find out that information, they may just say we already support nfo's so just get it from that.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) Already voted on the first day of the thread. Not sure voting again would help. As long as the media gets into a proper folder, MBS pulls the metadata. Edited June 28, 2014 by Wayne Luke

Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Already voted on the first day of the thread. Not sure voting again would help. As long as the media gets into a proper folder, MBS pulls the metadata. yea exactly. i don't see why they need to write metadata for us. they're going to notify us of what they did. i would think that's enough.
CBers 7450 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 yea exactly. i don't see why they need to write metadata for us. they're going to notify us of what they did. i would think that's enough. But without the series.xml file in a new TV show's folder, MBS won't look for anything. SickBeard does just that and MBS fetches metadata.
Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 mbs won't fetch anything once a series xml has been laid down. you're telling MBS, I have my own metadata, no need to go out to the internet.
CBers 7450 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 But MBS won't fetch anything without it. Once created, MBS will do the initial fetch, then I do a manual refresh. With SickBeard creating the file, I don't have to do anything.
Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 a better approach is just to create the season 1 folder.
Delphi 83 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 delphiactual is me, i have submitted a PR to them which creates series.xml but when I was playing around with our options in mb i found the option for it to read xbmc.nfo files. So I probably will not be pushing that PR through if they want any more changes to the commit... 1
CBers 7450 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 That's OK if you have nfo files. I've never used XBMC, so all my metadata is in MB format.
Delphi 83 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 just set nzbdrone to only make the tvshow.nfo mb3 will import said data upon initial file load...
Luke 42077 Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 well, assuming you have the nfo plugin installed. although it will be merged into the core before the next server release.
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 http://forums.nzbdrone.com/discussion/2278/quality-and-cutoff#Item_19 So far, this could be the deal breaker in my case, the wanted section along with the cutoff and qualities is SO CONFUSING... I just hope I'm missing something really obvious... or they change this...
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Go into season pass on the wanted page. Click latest season only for you series if that is what you want. Will prevent trying to download.
CBers 7450 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Each TV series, season and episode has a little bookmark icon to the left of it. If you're happy that you have what you want click on the icon and NzbDrone will stop monitoring it. Whichever level icon you unmonitor, everything underneath it will also be unmonitored. I was able to unmonitor all previously deleted episodes, and told it to ignore what I currently had. NzbDrone assumes an MP4 file is SD, whereas MBS looks at the MediaInfo of it and determines HD, so there is some sort of mismatch going on.
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) OK, thanks, still I would really want a setting "any existing episode quality considered as cutoff". Like this, VERY confusing... and I don't really consider myself as a newbie... SB was way simpler to understand so far... I'll still keep at it.... Just everything I test, I really need to FULLY understand every step of what's going on and how to control it... Now, after importing stuff, a lot of manual things to do... CBers 7450 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) @@sfnetwork - perhaps you're over thinking it Just import and leave it for a day. Then, re-visit and unmonitor anything that has a quality you're happy with. Also, unmonitor anything that you have deleted and don't want again. . Edited June 29, 2014 by CBers
