CBers 7450 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) Has anyone been in contact with the guys over at NzbDrone (alternative to SickBeard) ? They have an entry on their Trello board to add support for MB3, but seems to be a low priority. The Trello link is here: https://trello.com/c/poCk50Nd/234-mediabrowser-metadata-support Edited October 23, 2014 by CBers 1
Sven 136 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I also like their Trello Page layout. Maybe we can tweak our Trello page to something like that? Then we don't need something like Youtrack .......
CBers 7450 Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 What is the URL for the MB3 Trello board please ??
Sven 136 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 What is the URL for the MB3 Trello board please ?? It's a private board. So you need to be added. What's your name on trello?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) Interesting application. Much nicer looking than Sickbeard. Edited June 25, 2014 by Wayne Luke 2
Luke 42077 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Since they are built with the same technologies we are, i decided to stop in and say hello. perhaps some of you will too: http://forums.nzbdrone.com/discussion/2258/saying-hello-from-media-browser

CBers 7450 Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Interesting application. Much nicer looking than Sickbeard. Just have to see if the functionality is there. I voted for the issue to integrate Media Browser. I've only been using it for the last few days, but it seems as good as SickBeard, minus the metadata stuff. Nothing wrong with SickBeard, just wanted something new to play with 2

Nothing wrong with SickBeard, just wanted something new to play with Playing with it myself now...looks good. Supposed to work well on missing episodes so hoping that improves...one PITA is that you need to use mono to run it under OSX...luckily I have this installed for the OSX MB3 server..but I would have expected a dedicated client for non windows users such as SickBeard does.
fantaxp7 191 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I figure sickbeard works well and it doesn't seem to offer any big advantages...if it ain't broke...
sinjen 36 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Looks like they took an interest and had some follow up questions for you @@Luke 2
fantaxp7 191 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Is this something that is actually being considered? I remember in the past when things like this (nzb integration or whatever downloading of movies) popped up as requests on the forums it was generally shot down. I'm a big nzb user, but just curious. 1
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Did anyone REALLY tested this one (vs SB), I just installed it and first impression is very nice... I'll keep testing it in meantime Edited June 24, 2014 by sfnetwork
im85288 1493 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Yeah I tried it out and it's much better than SB...no need for scripts plus it did a great job of finding missing episodes..another cool thing is if a download fails it goes off and tries a different one automatically...for me it leaves SB in the past

I'll keep testing it in meantime As I said earlier on this thread, I've been using it for a few days. In does everything that SickBeard does, apart from the initial series.xml file creation, but that's only a small point, hence Luke's connection with the Developers. It keeps track of downloads in your download client rather than having to poll a folder every X minutes. It is an option already in NZB360 if you use it. Edited June 24, 2014 by CBers
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Thanks. I started testing it and so far, SB is already shut down (and maybe soon uninstalled). Much better app and looks SO much better. Thanks for this thread, life is a little better lol Dev is also updating a lot which is a good thing for me... Edited June 24, 2014 by sfnetwork
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 So far, it's better than SB... it handles the failed ones very well with conditions, etc... all configurable... I'm very impressed (so far. )
AdrianW 1058 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Do you guys have any recommendations for usenet services?
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) It even shows SABNZBD status using its API... Edited June 24, 2014 by sfnetwork

I use Newshosting https://www.newshosting.com (now 2139 retension) Been using it for 4 years now (and with CouchPotato, you get a reduced price on the unlimited plan.) Never really tried others but I always was happy with it... Edited June 24, 2014 by sfnetwork
