How are you guys launching MB theater?

I have a WMC remote. As far as I last checked MBT can not be launched from WMC? I think there was a hack workaround with one of those apps that tweaks WMC but can't remember. 

 

I want to try MBT over MBC but launching from a mouse is a no go.

If you have a harmony remote it can be done. You need a remote that can program keys such as win + 1. There may be other ways but harmony makes it simple.

I guess I will continue to look. I am intrigued by the subtitle abilities of MBT. That is the one thing I have never been able to get working from the remote on a standard WMC remote (without the colored buttons).

WMC can control subtiles with the remote if you install mediacontrol. Mediacontrol also enables chapters and ff/rewind in mkv videos but you must use ffdshow. I would not have been able to use WMC if it wasn't for mediacontrol.

I have no problems controling subtitles with the original media center (rc6) remote, I use the * key to open the menu and just navigate to the desired subtitle, did nothing special to configuratie that.

I guess I wasn't clear, I mainly want to change to MBT for the sub control. But I would like it to work with WMC like MBC does because I use WMC for live TV as well.

When using relaunch, a button is created in wmc, so you can start mbt from within wmc with your remote. When you exit mbt (or press the green button) you go back to wmc. It basicly works the same way as mbc works from wmc.

Thank you, I had done it in the past but it screwed up a bunch of stuff in WMC. This was with a different program though so I'll give it another shot.

I got the harmony 300 for that price a while back but it looks like it was since discontinued. I do see overstock has it for $21.00. For the price it is a great remote but the Logitech 650 is a lot better. Just paid $35 for one on eBay and I also have the Harmony 900. I pray it never dies.

I've always used my trusty HP wmc remote. I remember people having issues back in the day with the harmony's. I assume you can map the green button?

 

Sounds like you got a sweet deal on that 650 they are going for $70-80 new.

You can find them much cheaper refurbished. They are great remotes and can be customized to do a lot more than the standard WMC remote including the green button.

 

For instance to launch MBT all you would need to do is add a shortcut on the taskbar then map Win + # on the remote.

Thanks after looking on ebay I do see plenty for pretty cheap. I may have to give one a try thanks.
