Fast Forward does not work on android tv

I am an android tv user in my mi box s the forward function is not working every time i try to advance, the movie or series goes back to the beginning, there is some more with this problem on android tv

Android TV app v. 1.7.78 but also LG web OS app (up to date as of 7 february 2020)

Trying to fast forward or backward on certain videofile does not work. It brings you back to the beginning of the film. Tested this on a range of videofiles, SD, HD, 4K. Only some of my 4K files do not fast forward/backward. I added the file specifics below, don't know if that helps.

Some apps have their own logs (see EMC and Android TV section below).  For others, they may send logs to us automatically if there is a crash.  Please tell us as much about the scenario as you can to help us locate them.

I tried sending it on my Shield, but saw no option to send a log on my screen after enabling debugging... (also; the input for passwords and IP server adresses can only be done using the app on my phone, the remote won't go to 'cancel' or 'OK', but that's another thing.

What kind of container is this file?

Can you try remuxing it?  Most times, something like this is a bad index or other corrupt part of the file.

A friend of mine, also a miibox user, didnt have this problem with the previous version, but after latest update, he has this error too..

I tried remuxing it with MKVToolnix, didn't help. How could the media conversion feature help; it's a 4K HDR file, can it be converted without transcoding?

 

Since I'm in the process of migrating from Plex to Emby, I tried playing the file in Plex and it skipped without any problem. Also, other players like MPC can seek without problems.

There is issues in the 20191227 release, thats for sure!

Perhaps wait untill they get things fixed.

Indeed, for the biggest part Emby is delivering quite a positive experience so far!

Agreed, their willingness to fix stuff is above and beyond, I just hope that they wont take too long to fix all these issues with this new release for firestick and atv

Hi.  Can you please provide details for all the issues you are referring to?  Other than a few random issues like this one that appear to be related to particular media, we aren't aware of any.

-Random app startup and navigation crashes.

-Long app load time (30+ seconds).

-Unability to fast forward/backwards (sometimes app crashes when you try).
 

We have another thread about these issues. My neighbor (and friend) has experienced all of the above as well, and a few other issues, and got so annoyed by this new release for android TV that he went out to get a $200 appletv.

Ive sent a ton of logs/reports directly from the tv, supplied you with several videos and logs as well as tried to be "professional about it", but now its just honestly starting to get on my nerves!
