Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) Going into this, I know this is a niche issue that most people won't have so I appreciate if it's outside the scope of support for Emby. My problem is basically this; I spend a lot of time contracting at a company connected to their domain. I'd like to be able to stream from my server while here, but https://mb3admin.com is blocked on the network (I have no way of changing this or asking a network admin to). This blocks things like Emby Theater from working, and also seems to be causing playback issues on App.Emby.Media. To be clear, I can reach App.Emby.Media and stream content from this network. But playback is hit or miss and I often have to reload the page many times when a video randomly stops. Reading through older posts, it seems that users are pinging https://mb3admin.com/ as a 'check' for things like premier subscription, themes, etc. This normally wouldn't be a problem for me but if that is the case, I think that's what is abruptly killing my stream / connection every so often because that domain is blocked. I am a premier subscriber but don't need to use any of those features or themes at this particular location; I just need to connect to my server at home and stream. I was wondering if anybody here might have some insight into a workaround. I've attached a log from today that should show a number of streams pausing / failing if that helps. Some additional info; when loading the page, some content displays incorrectly. 'Get premier' sometimes shows up as 'Headerbecomeprojectsupporter'. Some libraries are listed as 'Showcurrentlibrary', or don't display at all. Reloading the page often gets these elements to display right, but I'm guessing it's related to the problem. embyserver.txt Edited February 7, 2020 by Orphan_Script
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Hi, that shouldn't cause other requests to fail. For example the text translations are coming from app.emby.media. Can you follow the requests in the network tab of the browser debug console and see what the problem is?
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) Can you follow the requests in the network tab of the browser debug console and see what the problem is? Where would I find this? Edit: It throws two errors: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED : mb3admin.com/admin/service/registration/validateDevice?serverId=f030df163ab541029f11f6968fff1205&deviceId=TW96aWxsYS81LjAgKFdpbmRvd3MgTlQgMTAuMDsgV2luNjQ7IHg2NCkgQXBwbGVXZWJLaXQvNTM3LjM2IChLSFRNTCwgbGlrZSBHZWNrbykgQ2hyb21lLzc4LjAuMzkwNC45NyBTYWZhcmkvNTM3LjM2fDE1ODEwODk2ODEzMzQ1&deviceName=Chrome&appName=Emby%20Web&appVersion=4.3.1.32&embyUserName=*Orphan_Script&viewOnly=true:1 (This appears multiple times) And notifications.js?v=4.3.1.32:1 [Deprecation] The Notification API may no longer be used from insecure origins. You should consider switching your application to a secure origin, such as HTTPS. See https://goo.gl/rStTGz for more details. I do not have secure a connection setup yet but plan on doing that soon. Are one of those two what I'm looking for? Edited February 7, 2020 by Orphan_Script
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 I mean regarding the text translations. I'd be curious to see what's going on there. Thanks.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Not sure what piece you need here but this is what I see.
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 ok so it seems that time the text succeeded. can you refresh the page a few times and see if you can get the text to fail again? if it does, then please capture the network tab contents. thanks.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 I can't get the text to fail as frequently, but when refreshing continuously one or more library is often missing. Would that be helpful at all? I'll keep trying to replicate the text issue.
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 If there are other requests failing in the network tab then yes that could be helpful. thanks.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 (edited) Here is an example where the 'latest movies' row on the front page is missing. When refreshing, one or more of those rows often doesn't show up. Sceenshot #2 shows another example where the 'cartoons and anime' library fails to load. But when the network scan is running, it looks like it shows up eventually after 20 seconds. Edited February 7, 2020 by Orphan_Script
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 It could just be slow to load. There's nothing obvious there.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Yeah that actually appears to be the case, in my other example it loaded after 20 seconds. I don't mind that either and am not sure if that's directly related to my overall problem.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 Here's an example of the text failing. 'My media' shows up as 'headermymedia', 'headercontinuewatching', etc. Unlike the missing libraries, this does not fix itself or change without a refresh.
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Is that the complete contents? Also can you capture the console tab when that happens? Thanks.
Orphan_Script 1 Posted February 7, 2020 Author Posted February 7, 2020 The first file is the full saved log from the console tab. The network tab will only let me save as a .har file which I can't upload here. The network tab has 212 entries total, but everything after what I showed you looks like this screenshot. If you need to see all those entries I'd have to send you a bunch of screenshots. I have not refreshed the page yet. consoletab1.log
Luke 42083 Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Hmm, ok. Nothing obvious here but I'll try to chase it down. Thanks.
