What device did you use to watch the Emby Theater on and if it is a HTPC what type of themes?

Yes I use a HTPC.  I haven't explored any themes yet, just the default.  Anything you recommend?

At the same time; if you have to force yourself; the interface is probably less user friendly ;)

My main reason for using WMC is simply; user friendliness with my IR remote on my HTPC.

Agreed.  But I feel less user friendly is also just less familiar.  I now find that I wish EMC had some of the features that I'm used to in theatre.

Simplicity was also my main reason for WMC.  In all fairness Theatre has come along way from when I first tried it.  The last few updates have ironed out tons of bugs for me.  It's pretty friendly with the media centre remote too.  Only thing missing for me these days is the ability to jump to a letter using the number keys on the remote.

I use EMC with the Throgsoft themes here and use external players MPC for anything except Blu-Ray or DVDs. Just search for Throgsoft or Throgmorton and you will see screenshots of the different themes. I do use an extended Home Screen that shows all the libraries.

Get the message 'there is something wrong with this installer package'...

Does seem to work though... Although it doesnt fix the issue.

I've got:

9,10,11,12,13,14,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,15,16,17,18,19 with blue bloods season 10 for instance. And no logic with alphabetical order.

What version of the app is shown in the config page?  Doesn't sound like it actually installed.

Okay, ebr that did it. The TV episodes now appear in ascending order.

This might have been just a one-off but at the end of the MediaBrowser.msi installation I saw this:

Could that be 3.0.318.0?

Yes.  And you are getting a different result than DrBob?

Yes I am. Like I said in the example sequence for blue bloods above.

What theme are you using?

Also, make sure those episodes are properly identified with season and episode numbers...

I'm using the chocolate theme. Never did any manual intervention with seasons and numbers. Just got out of whack at some point.

Same happens to all series with 10+ episodes it seems.

Can you bring up "Grave Errors" in the metadata editor on the web app and show me what is in the season and episode number fields?

Are you saying that the previous seasons are sorted correctly?

Sure!

For Blue Bloods I don't have the preceding seasons anymore. But for chicago fire:

Season 6 ok.

Season 7 ok.

Season 8 starts with 9 again.

Season 9 so far ok, but only 7 episodes until now.

I've been going crazy trying to update every single episode of every single show with a Sort Name in the Metadata Manager.

I was also thinking about using the title sort option in the Metadata Manager to straighten out all my TV episodes.
Thank you ebr for providing the EMC update.

I still don't understand why the issue persists for me... Even with the last updated version...?

Newer seasons look ok btw.

What is in the SortTitle field of the episodes that sort incorrectly?

I would be wondering about the embedded data.. and what it said as well...if those tags are read regardless of what additional external information is gathered it may not overwrite the information gathered, present in the file.
