Hi there,

Can you have a look at the log and see what is causing emby to crash so much.

log - removed.

Thank you.

There is nothing in that log file that shows emby crashing.  There is, however, a bunch of personal info that you may not want out on the internet.

Hi, what do you mean by crashing?

Hi Mastr,

Yes. this is the log that we have to share but was odd seeing a lot of personal stuff, how do you avoid sharing that information if log is required?

Luke, emby keeps crashing and reboots every 40mins or so and unsure why that would be.

What do you mean emby reboots?

So if you were able to obtain a log then that means the log is from after the crash had already happened. Please supply the previous log file. Thanks.

I will come back to you with a new log when emby reboots again.

Also, how do you avoid sharing the personal information with the log?

You can always PM it to me.

Thanks Luke

Will send it when it reboots again.

Just annoying as the latest version for me has caused more issues so that's the reason why I've asked.

Be in touch.

Here is mine, last one before restarting to current one. Note, I was using the linuxserver/emby docker image until earlier today when I switched to the emby/embyserver image. Same issue started yesterday but I wasn't able to get to my terminal.

Open the log in a proper editor (Atom is cross platform) - find and replace.

Please try removing these plugins, then restarting the server and seeing if that helps:

Same issue. Constant crashes. Debugging log attached.

Also started removing plugins.. nothing helped yet. Kind of hesitant to remove them all..

Apologies, I suppose crash would be not very helpful. Unresponsive is probably a better word.

In most cases, seemingly randomly within 2-10 (hard to say exactly) minutes the server becomes slow, then unreachable and unresponsive.

Emby applications on all platforms cannot connect and direct localhost browser viewing on the server itself has the same issue of not being able to connect and if it does, its just lagging/spinning or loading/unresponsive.

A forced service reboot (sudo service emby-server restart) reboots the server and then it happens again usually shortly after.

HTOP also shows high CPU usage with the most common command being flooded:

/opt/emby-server/system/EmbyServer.dll -programdata /var/lib/emby -ffdetect /opt/emby-server/bin/ffdetect -ffmpeg /opt/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /opt/emby-server/bin/ffprobe -restartexitcode 3 -updatepackage emby-server-deb_{version}_amd64.de

Thanks.

Plugins were removed this afternoon, same unresponsiveness symptoms as sk3tch4d.

EDIT, added today's.

As per above.

Plugins removed, same issue, seems like a lot of people are having the common issue with this latest emby update on Linux. Crashing reference = emby reboots

So as a user, if you are watching something, you literally get kicked out of the content, which makes it very very frustrating.

The one before this update was stable, as per the log of the latest version 4.3.1.0 Fix arm64 transcoding crashes <-- I think the fix that was applied here could be the issue.

Are you arm though? I'm x86.

I am just tossing ideas out there that there is some major issues with the latest and I have already started looking at alternative option after being a long time premiere supporter.

Hey mine hasn't happened for a couple of days, after i found out my backup drive unmounted and /mnt filled up the drive. Do a df -h just to see.

If you're still running into this please give the beta server a try and see if that helps. Thanks.

Hey, could you elaborate on this by chance? Were you having mounting and/or space issues? Or was it something else.  Thanks in advance

I upgraded my CPU cooler and did some cable management which caused me to unplug my backup drive and plug it back in. It did not re-mount so when running my nightly backup it filled up the root partition under /mnt because the actual drive was not mounted.

Prem here too and yea, had to do the same unfortunately as its just unusable due to the constant downtime. Currently running Jellyfin for now while i continue searching for a fix.
