Google Drive + STRM + Emby

Hi guys,

 

I've been looking here on the forum for ways to generate strm links of files on google drive. But unfortunately all the articles I find don't get anywhere.

 

Could someone help me generate the STRM files of the movies on google?

@ddurdle took he's plugins down anyone that can help with the links or a way how to export all movies to .strm.

If you have any programming ability this shouldn't be to difficult to do.

Essentially each strm file is just a download link to the movie/show you have uploaded in your Google account.

 

Actually run this search on Google "generate strm files for google drive"

There are a few python and php solutions that show up on the first page of results.

The reason why I'm asking is because I already did my research and came out empty when it comes to .strm and Emby and the links that show are old post base on the same dead link so I can't find anything that help me.

One of the first links I see points to this:

The code and instructions are there.  I haven't tried it but looks quite simple to use or modify.

This is for Kodi not for Emby but thanks for the help I guess is not possible.

It generates strm files which are nothing more than a txt file with a URL in it that's named with an strm extension.

Doesn't matter program used it no more that what program plays back an mp4 files.

Create a file on your computer called Gulliver's Travels (1939).strm

Now edit this empty file with notepad and add this single line and save it.

https://archive.org/download/gullivers_travels1939/gullivers_travels1939.mp4

Placed into a library both Emby and Kodi can now play back that movie from the internet

All that script is going to do is what we just did above.

When it comes to Google drive links it doesn't work that way and the script in the link is for Kodi Gdrive plug-in, when it creates the strm file is linking the GDRIVE plug-in from Kodi, you can read it yourself in the description.

This ran for me and I don't have Kodi installed on this PC.
