I k ow this is a digital group. We have everything on a computer and stream it but sometimes it's nice to go back to the oldies.

PS - Don't judge me for the vinyl that's shown in the picture197b331af172ce312b5169e0413e925c.jpg

I absolutely agree! I actually purchased a record player about a year ago for the nostalgia and sound. It is the only device running to my AVR via RCA cables! lol

Any vinyls you love or think should be in everyone's collection?

besides the classics like Far side of the Moon and most of the Prince albums (I definitely don't judge you for the album in the pic...), I love Marillion...

I've refurbished some 70s AKAI equipment... best sound I've found in this range

I think a lot of older music belongs on vinyl personally. Some of my favorites are Credence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, Led Zeplin, Johnny Cash as some examples.

However, my listening tastes are pretty diverse, I also love the way early Sex Pistols and The Ramones sound as well.

Some newer stuff sounds great too, but I like the above as well.

I think Purple Rain is also a great choice!

Unfortunately my gf thinks my record player is an alternative storage area. All our Christmas chocolates are on it at present. But I was just shopping for some new (2nd hand) records the other day so I’ll reclaim it soon.

I like the classics but I’m also collecting a lot of 80/90s dance music from my clubbing days

Umm, here is my Home Theater setup.  Guess my devices can be called "old"........   Dual monitors, watching TV and playing games.....

I got one for Christmas and I really like it. I couldn't believe new records were so much but if you look at the thrift shops they're like a dollar each. I haveine right next to my mediasmart server.

I have a few records too. This is my 2ch area in the great room. Full dedicated theater in the basement.

One bit of advice, if you’re using those novelty turntables like that, don’t invest heavily in records, but the cheap ones. Those tables are like dragging a jackhammer through the groove.
