Android TV Themes

Hi,

 

On Emby (Android mobiles) there are more theme options available (i.e. light theme with blue accent, dark theme etc).

 

Can we have these themes for Android TV as well as option?

Hi, they're a bit harder to do on android TV but perhaps if there is enough demand. Which one would you like the most?

Hi Luke, I would like the dark theme (black theme is just too dark) but having the light theme as an option would be really great.

I personally a in LOVE with the Blue Radiance theme, but I know my brother would like the dark theme.

I know a few folks who would probably like the light theme, both the light and dark themes are obvious ones that should be there if this is ever done.

We need a theme to be somewhere between dark theme and apple tv. Dark theme is a bit too dark but the Apple tv is just too bright. For Android TV I use the dark theme as that one looks the best to me out of the ones available.  

 

On my apple tv most of the time the theme is absolutely stunning to look at but sometimes it gets changed to something which is not as good.

Totally agree on above, something between dark and Apple TV (dark grey?) is a good step to start with.

The problem I've found is that, on large display devices of only 1080 or 720 resolution with who knows what color, brightness and contrast settings (but usually in torch mode) any sort of "gray" or semi-dark variant just looks pretty bad unless it is totally flat (one color all the way through).  And even then - depending on those settings grays can look very dull/bad.

 

Otherwise you get into some pretty bad dithering and blochy-ness.

Thanks for this but dark grey is working for Plex and Prime video as well and people can disable when they do not want.

I would be happy with most any theme, if we could have a slider to customize the opacity of the backdrop on detail pages.  This mainly applies to Emby Theater for me personally, but customization options would be preferable on all platforms.

Hi, Can we please have a dark grey (similar to Android TV home page) background as an option rather than black only? Black is really too dark!

The dark apple tv looks really good compared to Android tv theme. But there is more to a theme than just changing backdrop you cant have apple tv theme and then have green selection it just looks horrible. You need to have text colour that goes with the theme.

Apple tv theme looks really but the whole app needs major work.

I just realised depending on the screensaver before I go into the app that colour gets used as the backdrop.

I agree I think there should be a setting or settings that will allow you to change the green colors even the watched checkmark to match... I use the blue radiance theme and the green throws it off
