aaronsomek 13 Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 It would be great to be able to pinch to zoom the video so it fills the screen on Android. I have a lot of older 3:2 ratio TV shows and watching them with such large black borders is quite annoying. 2 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 30, 2020 Posted January 30, 2020 Hi there, have you explored the settings in the video player menu?
SikSlayer 249 Posted January 31, 2020 Posted January 31, 2020 (edited) Hi there, have you explored the settings in the video player menu? Folks are getting used to super tall/wide screens on phones, and the pinch to zoom touch functionality is the obvious method. I'm seeing kids as young as 4 using pinch to zoom, it's the way to go. Features are being removed in the name of functionality for new users. Well here's one I doubt many would have issue with. So long as you don't remove the method that's already there. LiamW 0 Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 +1 I have a foldable phone and when using the inner display 4:3 content would be great! The issue is that some of the content has a wide-screen intro but then has a 4:3 ratio for the actual show. This means that I have black bars on the sides for most of the episode simply because of an into that lasts 5 seconds. Being able to zoom in and move the picture to where I would like would allow me to tune the content to my screen exactly as I would like. Something that isn't possible with the current options. Please can this be added
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2025 Posted September 4, 2025 This is in the latest test build: Well, not the pinch gesture yet, but video playback will use the full screen, including the notch, depending on the aspect ratio of the content that you're playing. You can also force it by using the controls in the video player to set the aspect ratio to fill.
