Routhinator 0 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 Hi folks, Just went to fresh install a new Pi today and realized that the Emby for Kodi addon is gone form the repository and the links to get the older repos are all dead. I've also noted the Emby team seems to have altered links so that EmbyCon is the only thing left. I'm going to be honest. EmbyCon sucks. If I wanted to have to go to a submenu that doesn't integrate with my client I'd use DLNA. And I'm using Kodi because the webapp for the TV / PS4 is slow and causes OOM crashes on both of them. Emby for Kodi is the best plugin out there.So how so I get Emby for Kodi back? Do I have to compile from the source myself?

Have you followed the install instructions on our website?https://emby.media/emby-for-kodi.html After installing the repo from the zip file I have from another pi, and updating the repo to latest, the only plugins listed in the repo are EmbyCon and Emby (the full server) - Emby for Kodi is now gone. It was there a week ago.So, wondering if something changed I went to the exact page you linked. The link that used to take you to the emby wiki for installing the repo (which I already have installed) now takes you to:https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/78547-embycon-faq/...which only mentions EmbyCon.

EDIT: Actually the repo link in that wiki is out of date, but you can still get the latest from http://kodi.emby.media/ EDIT 2: Are you SURE it's the server installation you're seeing in the repo? The plug-in you're looking for is listed as "Emby" but in the description says "Emby for Kodi". Edited January 26, 2020 by emdubya77
haddonfield 0 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 I can’t get emby to install either. I just got a Shield and have never had a problem installing it. When I click install (on every emby thing I can install) nothing happens. I go back to it and it says click to install. What is going on? I have embycon working but I hate it. You have to click a bunch of things just to get to a show you want. On top of it, it’s slower. What a pain in the ass this has become.

haddonfield 0 Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) Emby for kodi. I finally was able to install it (it something like 4.1). Unfortunately I had to move out of My place for a few weeks because my parents had to self isolate because they returned from a cruise. Because of this all my hard drives were in different letters so when I click on something to play it says the file no longer exists. No big deal. I deleted my library and put news ones in with the correct newly named drives. But when I click on a video it still says the file no long term exists. Emby Con works though for some crazy reason. I hate Emby Con because they layout doesn’t change for Everything. It goes by every damn show. It’s a pain. When a episode ends, it doesn’t go straight to the next one. The emby app in shield also works but I’m not crazy about the player. It doesn’t allow me to type in the time to skip to, you can’t move a video ahead by more than 30 sec. The only good thing about it is you can scroll to K or P, or whatever letter a show is named. Edited April 5, 2020 by haddonfield
