steve1977 67 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 I am hoping that MBS will soon also support play-to (DLNA) for Bravia TVs. While browsing around, I noticed that both Plex and Serviio do support this. Maybe, there is a chance to "borrow" the profile? I also noticed that Serviio (http://serviio.org/) also quotes "Media Browser" as a player. Is this related to MBS/MBT/MBC or just co-incidentally the same name?
Luke 42077 Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 it's most likely not the profile but the code. not every device implements upnp exactly to spec, so even though we've done it by the book, now we need to look at device-specific workarounds. so we're going to need someone in possession of those devices to do a little debugging.

Thanks. Any skills required for the debugging or just sharing log files? Happy to help! What about Serviio using the word MB. Co-incidence or any relationship with this project?

AndyBak 17 Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Latest server release seems to have fixed the DLNA problems I was having with my Bravia TVs, both my KDL-42-W829 and older KDL-32CX523 now work with both PlayTo and standard server navigation. Cracking job guys, most appreciated! 2
arrbee99 1815 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, Also have a Sony Bravia (a KDL-42W670A) which shows up on the MB dashboard fine. On the Sony MB is listed under Media Players, so I select Video, select Movies and then get 'cannot receive the contents list' message. Am I doing anything obvious/basic wrong. MB shows plenty of movies, all DVD rips (VIDEO_TS/vobs) which MBC will play. Do I need to specifically assign movies to a DLNA library or something ? The Server is 3.0.5288.30195. Thanks very much

Cracking job guys, most appreciated! This is good to hear. Are these 2011 or later models? My 2011 Bravia (HX920-55) still does not work (see thread below). Did you make any adjustments to the profiles? http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/8103-30528119818/page-3
Viktikus 4 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) HOLY S****! I just found out that this MediaBrowser system can transcode and publish the library to DLNA certified devices! I stood in front of my TV amazed! Small hickUp. I have Sony BRAVIA KDL-46HX900 (3.0.5347.22095) and items in the library are shown beatifully, but transcoding of anything results odd-cracking sound and black video. I saw the DLNA profiles and there were (Sony Bravia (2010) but I believe that h264 & aac is quite not suppoerted. I believe MP3 & mpeg2 would work. What to do? Edited September 6, 2014 by Viktikus

Click video and modify it to what you want it to be click ok then save. This will make a custom profile so the originals will always be there. Custom profile have priority over default profiles.

What values is there to put here? Audio codec: (ac3,aac) Mp3 maybe? What values is there to put here? Has anyone else make this work with Bravia ... some 2009 models or so.. Specs are = https://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/content/cnt-specs/KDL-46HX900/list "DLNA Renderer = Photo (jpeg)/Music(LPCM/MP3)/Video(MPEG2/AVCHD) DLNA Client = Photo (jpeg)/Music(LPCM/MP3)/Video(MPEG2/AVCHD)" Edited September 6, 2014 by Viktikus 1
Luke 42077 Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 Please try again on the latest beta. There's a number of fixes for Sony Bravia's. Thanks.
