jglazer63 22 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 I have my movies organized into collections so you don't, for example, have to page through 30 james bond movies in the general movie list. However, the collections are not showing up anywhere. I see there is a collections tab in emby, does that mean, if it was working, I would see all my non-collection movies in one tab and then have to go to the collections tab to see the rest. I expected them all to be in the same list: movie 1 movie 2 movie 3 james bond collection movie 4 movie 5 ... ... Is there a way to turn this on? And I don't understand why the collections are being ignored. I built them with TMM. Thanks!
crusher11 1102 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 When you're viewing a library there's an option for whether or not to group items into collections.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 the collections created via TMM are not going to have the same format (xml) as those created by emby (manually) or via auto Box Set plugin create one in emby as a test - it will show up - then compare the format - i think you will find they are different collections appear on own tab - or - you can set the movies within collections not to show on the movies tab and appear as collections within the movie tab - see three dot menu

crusher11 1102 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 How I do it is I have a collection for all my movies that aren't in collections. I can then use the Collections tab to browse my movies in exactly the way I would browse the discs on my shelf, and the Movies tab to see all my movies individually.

Deathsquirrel 745 Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 So how do I create/manage collections? To do it manually, select a movie, or multiple movies, and use Add to Collection in the context menu. There is also an auto boxset plugin which will create collections matching the tmdb collection data for your movies. I use the plugin for the first pass and then remove it and manage things by hand moving forward.

I am surprised that Emby doesn't use the <set></set> standard in the .nfo file like the other media servers use at least for scanning.
